With so many outlets for news and opinions, I've created this site as a simple way to view the latest MLB-related news and analysis. Instead of visiting 25+ different sites, twitter, facebook, etc...My thinking is it will be nice to have a simple & clean index of the latest stories. Blog posts are listed in the order of most recent posts first. Play Ball![Bookmark CTRL + D]

AS IF YOU NEEDED ANOTHER REASON TO DISLIKE SCOTT BORAS
From this morning's Los Angeles Times, Scott Boras unveils his grand plan to improve the World Series. Let me guess, Boras also wants to raise the drinking age to 35 and have 6 work days in the week instead of 5.
Agent Scott Boras was interviewed for the June edition of Playboy and was asked how he would change the World Series. Boras replied: "I'd modernize it, make it five out of nine games, with the first two in a neutral city. Announce the MVP and Cy Young awards at a gala held between the playoffs and a new World Series weekend. Move the home-run contest from the All-Star game to that week too. "The gala and home-run derby would lead to Game 1 of the Series on Saturday, with Game 2 on Sunday. Then the Series would go on with the final seven games in the Series teams' cities. This way, different places get part of the Series. I want the World Series in Pittsburgh, Texas, Seattle. Teams in those markets would sell more season tickets. World Series weekend would be a major stage for corporate events; it could advance the game to the next level." Boras said fans come up to him during games to tell him, "You're wrecking the game." What will they say when they learn of his grand scheme to revamp the World Series?
Actually they aren't horrible ideas - the world series was a best of 9 originally, i believe, with games being played in neutral cities. And moving the Hr derby isn't a bad idea either. The problem i see with all of this is that it will push things back further - The October Classic should not be the Halloween Classic, and for god's sake should NOT be played in the same month as Thanksgiving.
What MLB needs to consider is moving up the start times for playoffs games. The younger generation of fans are not able to watch the games in entirety. Obviously MLB prefers the later start times to leverage the prime time viewing hours. The younger fans might not be able to support the sponsors, but they will.
Actually, these are not bad ideas. I have no problem in the having the league, cities, and other companies make more money off of it. As long as the game is still going to be played, PLAY BALL!!!
i like the idea of moving the HR derby to the home teams' stadium before Game 1, so the players don't have to worry about wearing themselves out or wrecking their swing....But not out of 9. Teams should have to earn the right to host a WS Game at their stadium
